Halden, Waste Management - History
Halden Nigeria Limited as a company over the years has been faced with challenges arising from drilling / production operations. In its drive to stay in business , Halden Nigeria Limited evolved from its initial state of containment and disposal, to treatment, using the 3RS' for waste management (Reduction, Re-use, and Recycling)
Our aim is to ensure that waste is not generated from our action to manage waste. As a waste management company, we have assigned a process for cleaning equipment, i.e. tanks, boats, skips, etc. which is to apply reduction, re-use and re-cycling methods to effectively, do the job, with an insignificant change to the original volume of waste.
We have well trained personnel that have who are conversant with ISO 14001 requirements. They have the ability to evaluate environmental requirements and advise on the best practice. They are also versed with the statutory and regulatory requirements in Nigeria and will endeavor to do same in other countries we may operate.
Halden, Waste Management - Purpose
In line with increased awareness on environmental management, Halden Nigeria Limited is involved in ensuring that waste streams generated in drilling and work over operations in the oil and gas industry are managed in accordance with current legislation and internationally acceptable standards.
Halden Nigeria Limited employs practical methods needed to carry out waste management operations. It also sets tasks and responsibilities to effectively focus all relevant clients, and employees on appropriate handling, storage, collection, transportation, recovery, disposal, monitoring and reporting of waste.
The company, in the course of managing waste has the responsibility of ensuring that all relevant procedures and policies are complied with.
